North & South Pond Scrapes.

Our conservation plan and property vision included (3) pond scrapes.

(1) North Pond along highway 54, and (2) Southern Pond Scrapes along Old Seymour Road.

The plan was approved in November of 2020 by Outagamie County Zoning.

The creation of the North Pond began immediately after the approval.

North Pond (now called Lake Maxwell) was excavated just before a hard freeze in Fall 2020. The spoils from this pond excavation were not completed as specified in our contracts and renderings due to some rain received during the excavation. The excavation company said they would revisit in spring.

South Ponds were not affected by the rainfall in the same way, (now called Lake Henry and Lake Simon) were completely excavated and berms formed with spoils moved into place just before a hard freeze in Fall 2020.

North Pond & South Ponds, renderings from Outagamie County Land Conservation below.

Patti, Simon, and Paula take inventory of progress.

Simon and Paula visit to see progress on the property.

The last time the farm is planted in row crops- 2020- soybeans are the last harvest.

Once spring 2021 arrived, the excavation company said they would not touch this area again without the equipment they rented and with their costs it would be starting at $5000. This was an oversight on our behalf as we hired family to do the work. We did not ask for a outlined estimate prior to beginning the work. We declined their services and decided to later work on this area ourselves to save money ~ 2022 spring.
