Conservation & Camping- a plan forms.

School, internship, and glamping.

School.

Determined to finish my Associates Degree in the shortest amount of time, I enrolled for summer coursework including, Social Media Marketing, Introduction to Diversity, and Introduction to Psychology. Whilst completing my internship at the local botanical gardens as a full-time intern for summer.

Internship.

The internship was a formalized experience to obtain my degree, it also solidified my career-long professional event management experience in the hair industry. I was well aware of the processes involved with putting forth events for the public and this was an opportunity to understand hosting events in an outside venue.

Glamping.

I had an idea in early 2018 when I came home, inspired by what I had seen in the Dandenongs in Victoria, Australia - glamping farms. I wanted this to become part of the vision of the farm in some shape and form. I researched this topic, created a business plan, and found a new company to partner with. I was ecstatic I would have 3 glamping sites on the 7 acre parcel surrounding the homestead. I ordered the kits, they were installed, and by mid summer I was up and running... well sort of (more to come on this in Post called "Once Upon a Glampsite". The sites were gorgeous and I was busy keeping up with this vacation rental aspect of my own personal business plan. The experience I was gleaning at the botanical gardens was hugely helpful too my understanding of running an outside venue.

The sites were fully decked out and were open into the Packer season of 2019 - a very wet year but busy all the same.

My vacation rentals were called, Our Country Home, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Capricorn. And were able to be booked via Airbnb - which had been a great platform for me to showcase my rentals and manage bookings. I had ranked in as Superhost with Airbnb.
